The Climate Action Project at Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare focuses on the power of individual action and the essential role of civil society in fighting the global climate crisis. Climate change is very intersectional and does not have a single comprehensive solution. It is vital that climate action stems from understanding these complex dependencies. In this light, our climate action team is passionate and committed to finding meaningful ways to take action with available resources.
Scenes from our ‘Week of Sustainability’ workshop
After thorough discussion, we launched our first workshop – The Week of Sustainability. This project is targeted at a vast audience and aims to equip the typical Indian with the knowledge and perspective to transform their lifestyles to be more planet-friendly. Our project is based on the belief that we all have the power to make positive changes around us by acting within our capabilities as a community. Every decision taken with an ecological mindset could add up to be collectively impactful. Climate change is an ‘everybody problem’, and we need ‘everybody’s effort’. We also engage with community resilience, green jobs, and the intersectionality of climate change.
At HFSW, we believe in action through education and awareness among young people to bring tangible and meaningful change. This is especially significant for climate action because young people are the major stakeholders in the planet’s future. Stay tuned for all of our upcoming projects; we would love for you to participate in our workshops and events!
